| NOTES: "Close Your Eyes" is a project that survived Katrina thanks to the fine folks at Word Of Mouth Studio across the river from New Orleans. Betty returned to New Orleans and is now in residence at te Royal Sonesta Hotel on world famous Bourbon Street in New Orleans' historic French Quarter. The wide range of tunes run the gamut; from classic to show to Bossa Nova/Latin. Betty's improvisational scatting adds another dimension. Betty Shirley is one of the top female vocalists on the New Orleans scene, post Katrina. Sensitive, sassy, coy and a great interpreter sum up some of the many qualities she manifests on this outing. You will enjoy the collaborative efforts of all involved and be as I was after listening to the master. Smiling and patting my foot! |
