NOTES:
The music you are about to listen to is what the 1960's were all about. The Palace Guards were more than just your normal Rock 'N' Roll band; they were the embodiment of true garage music. Their style may sound derivative but everyone was trying to copy the Beatles, Kinks, Stones, etc. during those magical times. There are 13 unreleased and alternate tracks (11-23) in this compilaton that have never been heard before. They were taken from the Custom Sound, Sideshow, Bradley's Barn, Shamrock and other studio sessions between June 1966 and April 1969.

The most popular and successful of New Orleans' Rock bands of the 1960's. "The Palace Guards" were formed in the spring of 1966 virtually by accident and somewhat by experiment. With the exception of a few drum lessons and singing along with records, original memebers and founders Les Gray and Frank Bua had no background in music but were both very popular in high school. They thought having a band would enhance their local status after graduation in 1965; they knew few, if any, musicians.
