NOTES: This is New Orleanian Clarence Johnson III’s first recording as a leader. He has an original and distinct approach to playing the saxophone. Clarence is accompanied here by some of the best talent in New Orleans. His original compositions speak both intellectually and emotionally. He seem’s to be influenced more by Charlie Parker than John Coltrane but then again growing up in New Orleans his influences could actually be someone closer to home.
