This incredible film features never before seen footage of such piano players as Manuel Manetta, Alton Purnell, Sadie Goodson, Billie Pierce and includes a segment on legendary figure Richard M. Jones filmed by Bill Russell. There are also secitions on Joe Robichaux, including a never before heard Decca recording of his band at the Rhythm Club in 1936; Burnell Santiago and Fats Pichon are also featured.
Introduced by New Orleans pianist Rickie Monie, this film documents many of the orignators of the style in words and music.
