Recorded over four days at a Hollywood radio recorder, the album features songs specially composed and recorded for the 1958 film of the same name starring Presley, and reached #2 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. KING CREOLE VOL 1″ spent 30 weeks at #1 on the EP Albums chart and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on July 15, 1999.
