It is the heart and soul of New Orleans jazz – the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, an exuberant but profoundly important cultural institution that always sounds like the very definition of pure joy. Like a time capsule, the band captures and celebrates the contributions of some of the greatest jazz musicians who have been part of the scene in New Orleans over the last century. They perform all the great songs of the New Orleans jazz tradition, with the inimitable energy and laid-back style that defines that tradition.
