‘Iruña Jazz Brass Band meets Craig Klein feat. Kloy MC ‘ is the first record work of the Iruña Jazz Brass Band and the first self-managed by the Pamplona Jazz / Iruña Jazz association. With their own resources they have carried out a recording made by Martin Guridi in Sonora Estudios during the 43rd Vitoria Jazz Festival.
This recording unites musicians from both parts of the Atlantic, New Orleans trombonist Craig Klein and members of the Iruña Jazz Brass Band. As a guest, they have the rapper gasteizarra Kloy MC.
In the repertoire you can listen to a mix of traditional New Orleans songs along with original songs by Iñaki Rodríguez. Classics include adaptations and arrangements of compositions that make up New Orleans’ musical heritage such as’ I’m Walkin ‘, made famous by Fast Domino, or Brass Band adaptations of arrangements by the recently deceased Dr. John. Craig Klein contributes one of his compositions, ‘Rugulator Shakin’. The gasteizarra rapper Kloy MC contributes his lyrics in two of the album’s cuts.
