Notes
This collection of lullabies was culled from various sources. Acadian and creole folk songs, traditional European and American lullabies, as well as contemporary Cajun songs are all represented. What makes these recordings special is the distinctive Cajun treatment they are given by some of Louisiana’s most talented performers.
Many of these songs are performed with both French and English verses. It is our hope that these recordings will help preserve the Cajun culture by introducing the French language to children when they are very young. Additionally, we hope that non-Cajun children (and grown-ups!) enjoy this set of songs for what they are – beautiful Cajun Lullabies. Merci, Jerry Embree (producer)
