It pays tribute to all of the great piano players that were the architects of this style: Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John and James Booker. There are 3 original compositions and 8 covers written by and/or performed by one of these legendary piano players. There are 8 instrumentals and 3 vocal songs that feature New Orleans legends Walter Wolfman Washington, Ivan Neville and Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band vocalist Noah Hunt. Other guests are guitarist Leo Nocentelli from the original New Orleans super group the Meters, harmonica whiz Jason Ricci and saxophonist Joe Sublett from the Phantom Blues Band. “Tribute” is exactly that, a tribute to the roots and sounds of New Orleans piano.
